This policy explains what information Capital Logistics SARL ("Capital Logistics", "we", "us") collects through this website (clcongo.com), how we use it, and the cookies and local storage the site relies on. Capital Logistics is a transport and logistics company operating across the Democratic Republic of Congo and part of Socodam Group. For any question about this policy, contact info@clcongo.com.

1. Information we collect

We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site and serve you:

• Newsletter email. If you subscribe, we store the email address you provide so we can send you updates.
• Tracking lookups. When you enter a tracking number, we use it to show that shipment's public status, route and estimated arrival. The tracking number is not stored by the website beyond your request.
• Messages you send us. If you email us, we keep your message and contact details to respond.
• Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting and security provider processes standard request data (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site available and protect it from abuse.

The public tracking page only ever shows a client-friendly summary (status, origin, destination, location, ETA and any note). Internal details such as client contacts, customs paperwork and financials are never exposed on the public website.

2. Cookies & local storage

This website does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics that track you across the web. We use a small amount of your browser's local storage, only for essential and preference purposes:

• Language preference — remembers whether you chose English or French.
• Cookie choice — remembers that you have seen this notice, so it does not reappear on every visit.
• Newsletter state — remembers if you have already subscribed, so we do not show the sign-up again.

These values are stored on your device, are not shared with third parties, and can be cleared at any time from your browser settings. Our staff dashboard (not part of the public site) additionally uses a secure sign-in session and a theme preference for logged-in employees only.

3. How we use your information

• To provide shipment tracking and show your cargo's status.
• To send newsletter updates you asked for, and shipment status emails to clients.
• To operate, secure, maintain and improve the website.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Service providers

We rely on a few trusted providers who process data only to deliver their service to us:

• Supabase — secure database and backend that stores shipment records and newsletter subscriptions.
• Cloudflare — website hosting, content delivery and security.
• OpenStreetMap — supplies the map tiles shown on the live tracking map; your browser requests these tiles when a map is displayed.
• Resend — delivers shipment-status email notifications.

5. Data retention

We keep newsletter emails until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove them, and we keep shipment records for as long as needed for our operational, contractual and legal obligations.

6. Your choices & rights

• Newsletter — you can unsubscribe at any time, or ask us to remove your address.
• Access, correction, deletion — email info@clcongo.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data.
• Local storage — you can clear the stored preferences described above through your browser at any time.

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent version.
